Racing has developed grids for the side air intakes in the sill covers to protect the engine
bay air inlets and to protect them from excessive contamination of the air filters by pickup.
►
To attach the grid, the two sill covers must be dismantled. The mesh is fastened with two cable ties
each.
NOTE
NOTE
Air intakes blocked by pickup can cause a damage. Blocked air intakes
cause increased engine bay temperatures. This can lead to perfor-
mance losses.
Excessive dirty air filters can lead to performance losses.
The grids must be checked for contamination at each pit stop, and if
necessary, be cleaned.
NOTE
The grids described here have a flow

optimized orientation of the
meshes.
