Directive 2002/96/EC (Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment - WEEE): information for
users
This product complies with EU Directive
2002/96/EC.

The crossed-out wastebasket symbol
on the appliance means that at the end
of its useful lifespan, the product must
be disposed of separately from ordi-

nary household wastes.

The user is responsible for delivering the ap-
pliance to an appropriate collection facility at the
end of its useful lifespan.
Appropriate separate collection to permit recy-

• Unscrew the safety cap (

A

) (Fig.1) and fill the

boiler with 1,6 litres of water, using the jug (

10

)

and the funnel (

9

) provided for this purpose

(Fig.2).
The cap is provided with a safety device: to
open it, push down and turn.

• Screw the cap

(A)

back in, making sure that it

correctly tightened as far as it will go. If not,
steam could escape from the opening.

• Open the door of the one-piece socket (

E

); in-

sert the moulded plug (

3

) until a click is heard

(Fig.3). Make sure that it is firmly connected
before proceeding any further. To release the
sheath, simply press the release keys (

E1

) and

at the same time remove the moulded plug (

3

).

• Plug the power cable (

F

) into a suitable earthed

outlet.

• Press the ON/OFF switch

(B)

. The power indi-

cator light will come on

(C)

.

• Wait for the pressure indicator lamp (

D

) to light

up (about 10 minutes). Vaporetto is now ready
for use.

• The steam sprayer (

2

) has a safety button (

2A

)

that prevents accidental activation of the steam
delivery system by a child or other persons
unaware of how the device works. To prevent
the accidental output of steam press the button
(

2A

). To resume delivery press the button (

2A

)

in the opposite direction and operate the steam
control lever (

4

).

The first jet of steam may contain some water
droplets, due to imperfect thermic stabilisation
inside the flexible hose. We would therefore
advise that the first jet of steam is played onto
an old cloth until a constant steam flow is obtai-
ned.

Note: The steam pressure indicator (D) may
go on and off from time to time during use of
Vaporetto, this is quite normal

VERY IMPORTANT WARNING:

If you press the

steam request lever (

4

) when the appliance is

still under pressure, even if it is off and not con-
nected to the wiring system, you may still expe-
rience steam escaping from the flexible hose. So
when you switch off the appliance, before storing
it, it is neccessary to press the lever (

4

) till the

steam flow is exhausted.

VAPORETTOs are equipped with a steam regu-
lator control (

M

) (Fig.5). You can increase the

steam flow by turning the control in an anti-
clockwise direction. Turning it in a clockwise di-
rection reduces the steam flow. Here are some
suggestions for the choice of steam flow level:
• Strong steam: for encrusted dirt, stains, saniti-

sing, grease.

• Normal steam: for carpets, rugs, glass, tiles

etc.

• Delicate steam: for vaporising plants and clea-

ning delicate fabrics, upholstery, wallpaper etc.
