CLUTCH OFFSET / FLOAT
ADJUSTMENT
1. Determine the direction the driven clutch needs to be
adjusted using the Clutch Alignment tool.
2. Remove the driven clutch bolt, flat washer, float
washers and spacer.
3. Add or remove from the offset washers / bushing
stack on the jackshaft behind the driven clutch shaft.
Reference the Offset Washers / Bushing Table. Any
combination of these washers / bushing can be used
to set the offset, but at least one .120 washer must be
installed between the driven clutch and bearing on
the jackshaft.

4. After setting the offset, the driven clutch float must be
set. Float is the amount of driven clutch travel allowed
on the jackshaft.
IMPORTANT
Always verify the driven clutch floats on the jackshaft.
The jackshaft bearing will fail from side-loading if the
driven clutch is not allowed to float.
5. Apply a light film of Polaris Premium grease to the
jackshaft. Install the driven clutch and push it tight
toward the bulkhead.
6. Install the driven clutch bolt

TORQUE
Driven Clutch Bolt:
18 ft-lbs (25 N·m)
7. Slide the driven clutch back and forth on the
jackshaft. Verify the driven clutch float meets
specification.
MEASUREMENT
Driven Clutch Float:
.010 - .050 (0.254 - 1.27)
8. To adjust driven clutch float, add or remove float
washers from between the spacer and flat washer on
the driven clutch bolt. Reference the Float Washer
Table. Any combination of float washers can be used,
but the spacer and flat washer must be installed.

9. After setting the driven clutch float, reinstall the driven
clutch bolt and torque to specification.
