OPERATION
Emergency Starting
Your machine is equipped with a tool kit containing essential tools for
emergency use. Machines equipped with electric start have a recoil for
emergency starting. On manual start models, an emergency start strap
is provided for use if the recoil starter system fails.
To use the emergency start strap:
1. Open the clutch guard.
2. Push on the inner
sheave of the clutch
and rotate clockwise
slightly to relieve belt
tension.
3. Starting at one of the
tower struts, wind the
strap counterclockwise
around the clutch as
shown.
4. Pull the strap abruptly so the strap comes free of the clutch while
starting the engine.
Serious injury can result from wrapping the start strap around your
hand while using the emergency starting procedure. DO NOT
wrap the start strap around your hand. Keep all bystanders away
from the snowmobile when using the emergency starting
procedure.
