B
efore installing the scanner software onto your computer,
make sure that the scanner is properly connected as described in
Chapter I, Hardware Installation page 1.
Software Installation
The installation program called Setup/Application CD-ROM
must be run from within Microsoft Windows
™
. Once Windows is
running on your system, please follow the below steps to properly
install the software:
1. Insert the installation disk into the appropriate disk drive. If
you received the CD ROM version of the scanner set up,
please enter the CD-ROM into its disk drive.
Attention: Floppy disks only -- failure to install the
bundled software in the order outlined in the Software
Setup will result in failure to properly operate your
scanner!
2. From the Windows Program Manager
™
, choose FILE and
RUN. If Windows 95, choose START and RUN.
3. In the Command Line field, enter the letter of your disk drive
followed by SETUP.EXE (e.g., A:\SETUP.EXE), then press
ENTER. You should now be at the Setup program.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to properly install
the scanner software to your computer.
