Troubleshooting: Writing CD-R and CD-RW Discs
Symptom Possible
Causes
Solutions
Bad connection
between USB port and
PlexWriter 24/10/40U
drive.
Ensure the USB cable is securely
connected between the computer
and the PlexWriter, and that the
cable is not damaged.
Using authoring
software other than
that bundled with
PlexWriter 24/10/40U.
Use the authoring software
provided with the PlexWriter.
To use other types of authoring
software, contact the supplier and
ensure the software supports the
PlexWriter PX-W2410TU drive.
Supported software lists can also
be found on the Plextor web site at
www.plextor.com.
In the case of Windows
98SE, the USB storage
device driver is not
installed.
Install USB storage device driver
from setup CD that is bundled with
PlexWriter 24/10/40U.
USB cable is not
compatible with USB
2.0 or 1.1
Use the USB cabled bundled with
your PlexWriter drive.
CD-R or CD-RW
software cannot
detect PlexWriter.
Power is not switched
on.
Ensure LED of PlexWriter
24/10/40U is on. If LED is not on,
there is no power.
