4. Safety Information and Warnings
• The converter module use high voltage!
• Only PLASTOLIGHT
®
is authorized to make repairs. Attempted repair by any other
party will immediately void the warranty.
• Only a qualified technician may perform repairs. The system must always be
unplugged before repair work begins.
• The LiteScout and the converter module are for indoor use only. Do not use them
outdoors!
• Keep the LiteScout and the converter module away from moisture or moistness.
• Protect the LiteScout and the converter module from extreme heat.
• Do not use pointed or sharp objects on the light surface. They may damage the light
surface and destroy the LiteScout.
• Damaging the light surface may result in personal injury.
• Always make sure that the converter module is in an easy-to-access location that
receives sufficient ventilation. This will prevent the converter module from
overheating.
• Never allow children to work with the LiteScout without adult supervision.
• The LiteScout system should not be stored at temperatures of 0°C and below (e.g.
in a vehicle). If the device has been exposed to these temperatures, it should not be
switched on immediately after a quick temperature change (e.g. to room
temperature). This is because condensate could form, which could have a negative
effect on the LiteScout. In cases such as these, we recommend that you only switch
on the LiteScout after 30 - 60 minutes to allow it to acclimatise.
5. Cleaning and Care Instructions
• Clean the frame and light surface of the LiteScout, and all other plastic parts using a
soft, lint-free cloth and the plastic cleaning fluid shipped with your system. You can
also use household glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol on particularly difficult stains.
Just spritz a small amount onto the cloth and rub the stain gently.
• Avoid any pooling of water on the LiteScout. However, a small amount of moisture
or isolated droplets that may form on the light surface while you are cleaning or
otherwise using the light surface (e.g., a bit of saliva from the children using the
unit) will not harm the unit.
• The LiteScout is a robust product that can withstand damage when used according
to purpose. However, you should avoid rough treatment of the light surface or the
use of pointed or sharp objects on this surface.
• Avoid drawing directly on the light surface (use the OHP transparency).
• Always disconnect the LiteScout from the converter module before transporting it.
• We recommend that you use the robust carrying case to transport your LiteScout.
• Charged batteries can be left in the remote control unit for long periods of time, but
discharged batteries should be removed (this prevents the possibility of battery
leakage).
• Some types of batteries (e.g. alkaline manganese) discharge at temperatures of
0°C and below. As a result, we recommend that you do not store the LiteScout at
temperatures of 0°C and below, and that you always have reserve batteries
available.
