Telnet Control
Advanced users may need to control the switcher through Telnet. The Telnet
connection can be started from the Windows taskbar (see below) or a
professional Telnet client software (e.g. NetAssist). By default, the Telnet port
(port 23) does not require login credentials.
To establish a connection via Telnet at the CMD prompt:
1. Connect the ETHERNET(LAN) port of the PF-MS82T to your PC using a
straight UTP cable. Set your PC to the same network segment as the
switcher.
2. From your computer’s Windows Taskbar, select Start > Run to open the
Run dialog box.
3. Type “cmd” in the Open field.
4. Click OK to open an instance of the Windows command interpreter
(cmd.exe).
5. At the prompt (>), type “telnet” followed by a space and the switcher’s IP
address.
Example:
>telnet 192.168.20.235
A Telnet session opens for the switcher.
