7 TV CONTROL buttons
These buttons are dedicated to control the T V assigned to
the TV CTRL button. Thus i f you only have one T V to hook
up to this system assign it to the TV CTRL input source
button. If you have t w o T V s, assign the main T V to the TV
CTRL button.
TV

– Use to turn on / o ff the po w er o f the T V .
TV VOL + /– – Use to adjust the volume on your T V .
INPUT SELECT – Use to select the T V input signal.
TV C H + /– – Use to select channels.
8 C omponent control buttons
The main buttons (


, etc. ) are used to control a
component a f ter you have selected it using the input
source buttons.
The controls above these buttons can be accessed a f ter
you have selected the corresponding input source button
(f or example DVD , DVR 1 or TV ) . The f ollo w ing controls
can be accessed w hen listening to the built-in tuner :
M P X – S w itches bet w een stereo and mono reception
o f F M broadcasts. If the signal is w eak then s w itching
to mono w ill improve the sound q uality.
DISP – S w itches bet w een named station presets and
radio f re q uencies. Also used to display R D S
in f ormation.
EON – Use to search f or programs that are
broadcasting tra ff ic or ne w s in f ormation.

Press to check selected receiver settings.
1 0 M ULTI OPE
Use this button to per f orm multi operations.
11 S H I F T
Press to access the controls outlined in w hite boxes (f or
example, INPUT SELECT ) , or to display the currently
selected input source in the remote control LC D .
1 2 SOURCE

Press to turn on / o ff other components connected to the
receiver.
13 C haracter display (LCD)
This display sho w s in f ormation w hen transmitting
control signals.
The f ollo w ing commands are sho w n w hen you’re setting
the remote to control other components.
SETUP – I ndicates the setup mode, f rom w hich you
choose the options belo w .
PRESET – See Selecting preset codes directly
LEARNIN G – See Programming signals f rom other
remote controls.
M ULTI OP – See Multi Operation and System O ff .
S Y S O FF – See Multi Operation and System O ff .
DIRECT F – See D irect f unction.
RENA M E – See Renaming input source names.
ERASE – See E rasing one o f the remote control button
settings.
RESET – See Resetting the remote control presets.
READ ID – See Con f irming preset codes.
14 RECEIVER
S w itches the remote to control the receiver ( used to
select the green commands above the number buttons
( ANALO G ATT , etc. )) . Also use this button to set up
surround sound.
15 VOL + /–
Use to set the listening volume.
16 M UTE
Mutes the sound or restores the sound i f it has been
muted ( adjusting the volume also restores the sound ) .
1 7 R eceiver controls
SI G NAL SEL – Use to select an input signal.
S B ch – Use to select the surround / virtual back
channel mode.
STEREO /F .S.SURR – S w itches bet w een the stereo
playback mode and the F ront Stage Surround
Advance mode.
T HX – Press to select a Home THX listening mode.
STANDARD – Press f or Standard decoding and to
N eo : 6 options.
ADV.SURR – Use to s w itch bet w een the various
surround modes.
18 P H ASE – Press to s w itch on / o ff Phase Control.
M CACC – Press to s w itch bet w een MCACC presets.
S.DIRECT – Press to select the Auto Surround mode
or the Stream D irect mode.
Stream D irect playback bypasses the tone controls
and any other signal processing f or the most
accurate reproduction o f a source.
