12 Character display (LCD)
This display shows information when
transmitting control signals.

SETUP
– Indicates the setup mode, from
which you choose the options below.
PRESET

13 RECEIVER
Switches the remote to control the receiver
(used to select the green commands above the
number buttons (
DIMMER
, etc). Also use this
button to set up surround sound (page 9,
page 36).
14 VOL +/–
Use to set the listening volume.
15 MUTE
Mutes the sound or restores the sound if it has
been muted (adjusting the volume also
restores the sound).
16 EFFECT/CH SEL
Press repeatedly to select a channel, then use
+/–
to adjust the level
(see
Tip
on page 44). Also
adjusts the level of the Advanced Surround
effects, Dolby Pro Logic IIx Music, and Neo:6
Music parameters (page 29). You can then use
the
+/–
buttons to make these adjustments.
Operating range of remote control
The remote control may not work properly if:
• There are obstacles between the remote
control and the receiver's remote sensor.
• Direct sunlight or fluorescent light is
shining onto the remote sensor.
• The receiver is located near a device that is
emitting infrared rays.
• The receiver is operated simultaneously
with another infrared remote control unit.
