6.3 WHITE BALANCE ADJUSTMENT
Set CONTRAST to 180 and BRIGHT to 128 in the following
adjustments.
1. Black level adjustment
1) Input the RAMP signal.
2) Monitor the TP terminals R: K6101, G: K6102, and B:
K6103 on the DIGITAL VIDEO ASSY, and adjust the R, G,
and B LOW LIGHT so that the black level (0 IRE) becomes
1.9V.
2. LOW LIGHT adjustment
1) Input the RAMP signal.
2) Adjust the R, G, B LOW LIGHT so that the point that starts
to illuminate from black becomes gray on the screen.
3. HIGH LIGHT adjustment
1) Input the RAMP signal.
2) Monitor the TP terminals R:K6101, G:K6102, and
B:K6103 on the DIGITAL VIDEO ASSY, and adjust
the R, G, and B HIGH LIGHT so that the white level
(100 IRE) becomes 3.6V with the R and G, and 4.0V
with the B.
3) Input the white signal (80 IRE).
4) Adjust the R, G, B HIGH LIGHT so that the screen
becomes bluish-white (T=8500 [K], dev=0.000 [uv]).
4. Adjustment voltage check
1) Input the RAMP signal.
2) Monitor the TP terminals R:K6101, G:K6102, and
B:K6103 on the DIGITAL VIDEO ASSY, and check
that the black level (0 IRE) is 1.9V±0.1V and the white
level (100 IRE) is 3.6V or 4.0V±0.2V.
Picture Quality Check
1. Face color check (color balance check)
Check the face color of LD still images of people after the white
balance adjustment, and adjust COLOR and TINT if the color
is not natural, and memorize the value.
2. Sharpness check
Set the value to 80 and check the picture quality.
RAMP signal input
Color mode 1 produces normal picture quality and white balance
adjustment state.
Color mode 2 produces the optimum picture quality and white
balance adjustment state for the shooting mode.
The white balance adjustment is performed for every input function
and mode.
The memorized data synchronizes with the input function and input
signal, and it is switched automatically.
(Reference) Color mode 2 (shooting mode) white
balance adjustment
1) Input the window step screen 0dB (20%, 80%).
2) Using a white balance meter, adjust as the following data;
When 20 IRE level point: T=4500 [K], dev=0.000 [uv], LOW
LIGHT adjustment
When 80 IRE level point: T=4500 [K], dev=0.000 [uv], HIGH
