Connecting your TV and playback components
Connecting using HDMI
If you have an HDMI o r DVI (with HDCP) equi pp ed com p onent (Blu- r ay disc p laye r (BD), etc.), you can connect it to
this r eceive r using a comme r cially available HDMI cable.
If the TV and p layback com p onents su pp o r t the

with HDMI featu r e, the convenient
Control
with HDMI
functions can be used (see
Control with HDMI function
on p age 56).
• VSX-33 only: When connecting to an HDMI/DVI-
com p atible monito r using the HDMI OUT 2 te r minal,
switch the HDMI out p ut setting to HDMI OUT 2 o r
HDMI OUT ALL . See Switching the HDMI output
(VSX-33 only) on p age 64.
• Fo r in p ut com p onents, connections othe r than HDMI
connections a r e also p ossible (see
Connecting your
DVD player with no HDMI output on p age 25).
• If you want to listen to the sound of the TV ove r the
r eceive r , connect the r eceive r and TV with audio
cables.

1 When the TV and r eceive r a r e connected by HDMI connections, if the TV su pp o r ts the HDMI Audio Retu r n Channel function, the sound of the
TV is in p ut to the r eceive r via the HDMI te r minal, so the r e is no need to connect an audio cable. In this case, set TV Audio at HDMI Setup to
