solder

used
on
the
printed
circuit
boards
mounted
in
this
unit.
Be
sure
to
use
lead-
f
ree
solder
and
a
soldering
iron
that
can
meet
speci
f
ications
f
or
use
with
lead-
f
ree
solders
f
or
repairs
accompanied
by
reworking
o
f
soldering.
•
Compared
with
conventional
eutectic
solders,
lead-
f
ree
solders
have
higher
melting
points,
by
approximately
40
º
C.
There
f
ore,
f
or
lead-
f
ree
soldering,
the
tip
temperature
o
f
a
soldering
iron
must
be
set
to
around
373
º
C
in
general,
although
the
temperature
depends
on
the
heat
capacity
o
f
the
PC
board
on
which
reworking
is
required
and
the
weight
o
f
the
tip
o
f
the
soldering
iron.
Do
NOT
use
a
soldering
iron
whose
tip
temperature
cannot
be
controlled.
Compared
with
eutectic
solders,
lead-
f
ree
solders
have
higher
bond
strengths
but
slower
wetting
times
and
higher
melting
temperatures
(hard
to
melt/easy
to
harden).
