With a gifted Pioneer DVD performer, you enjoy full-fledged home cinema. Connect your DVD recorder to a
Dolby Digital/DTS compatible amplifier/receiver and a multi-channel A/V surround speaker system and
you’re ready to immerse yourself in the incredible surround sound* and special effects of the latest flicks.
All DVD recorders play back CDs, CD-R, CD-RW, VideoCD and Super Video CD discs — so just load up a disc,
sit back and enjoy.
Additionally, both DVR-5100H-S and DVR-3100-S can handle the latest formats like MP3 and WMA files
recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. They also come equipped with a JPEG PhotoViewer for enjoying
digital camera images.
* Dolby Digital/DTS/MPEG DVD-Video discs.
Note: CD-R/RW DVD-R/RW Playback: Discs may not be played back because of the following reasons: recording characteristics of
recorder/characteristics of disc/scratch and dust on disc/dust and condensation on pickup lens or others.
CD-R/RW Playback: CD-R/RW discs for Audio recorded in CD Audio, VideoCD or MP3/WMA audio or JPEG format can be played
back. Unfinalised discs except those in CD Audio formatting cannot be played back.
Note: When playing DTS-encoded (CDs, DVDs), noise is output from the analogue stereo outputs. To avoid possible damage to the
audio system, the consumer should take proper precautions when the analogue stereo outputs of the DVD recorder is connected
to an amplification system. To enjoy DTS Digital Surround
TM
playback, an external 5.1-channel DTS Digital Surround
TM
decoder
system must be connected to the digital audio output of the DVD recorder.
Note: Super Video CD compatibility: Pioneer's new DVD recorders support playback of the IEC’s Super Video Compact Disc (Super
Video CD) standard (IEC 62107). Compared to the VideoCD standard, Super Video CD offers superior resolution and picture quality,
and allows two stereo soundtracks on the disc although some functions, including time indication, don’t work.

Advanced Disc Navigator.
Finding that exact recording you are looking for has never been so simple. With the new Disc Navigator featured on
the new DVD recorders, just select a thumbnail image to see the corresponding title play in the thumbnail frame.
Previously, it was sometimes difficult to recognise what was recorded with just the still images. From now on, you
can quickly and easily recognise the programmes you recorded.
* For ‘Video Mode (DVD Video Mode)’ discs, this feature can only be used as long as the disc has not yet been finalised.

Navigate through your recorded discs with enviable speed and ease.
You can scan contents, zip fast-forward as well as fast reverse in up to
four steps. Additionally, you can skip titles, pause, view in slow
motion, repeat, and programme your playback.
