6.2 MEASUREMENT OF ERROR RATES
Use error rate measurement for failure judgment of the Drive Assy and discs.
For failure judgment, check that the measured error rate of a Drive Assy or disc is within the range of reference values,
or compare operations of the corresponding Drive Assy with those of a properly operable Drive Assy or product.
1. Turn on the unit then press the REP_B key on the remote control unit for service (GGF1067). The DRI

(The same screen can be displayed by pressing the REP_A key on the remote control unit for service then
the [YELLOW] key* on the supplied remote control unit.)
2. Select “E/R” on the menu, using the [ / / / ] key on the supplied remote control unit, then press the E

TER key on
the supplied remote control unit.
3. After confirming that “E/R” is set to O
N
, press the OPE
N
/CLOSE key. Then, load the test disc.
4. Play the disc back, using the supplied remote control unit.
The result is judged as

G when the measured value exceeds the reference value shown in the above table.
To exit Error Rate Measurement mode, display the DRI

U screen again, set “E/R” to OFF, then turn off the unit.
