Pinnacle ShowCenter

HD Playback
For HD output, you need a television with an HD-compatible component input
jack. The other ShowCenter video outputs are not suitable for HD transmission.
Via the
Settings/Video Output
in the
TV Menu
, you can set the component
output to HD output by selecting either mode "720P" or mode "1080I". Since
most televisions have limited resolution, the "720P" setting usually results in a
sharper picture. You should also switch the menu display to
HD
via
Settings/Menu Resolution
.
The ShowCenter can play HD movies in the following formats: MPEG 2 (720P
and 1080I), MPEG 4 AVI (up to 720P), and Windows Media Video (720P and
1080I). The maximum data rate is around 16Mbit/sec (Ethernet) or 12Mbit/sec
(wireless connection).
You can also display photos in especially high quality using HD output. When
you do this, try out the zoom function (press the
A
button, then the
arrow
buttons
and then
OK
to switch between zoom and move).
Album Cover Display
To display album covers while listening to music, you need to organize you
music files so that each album has its own directory. If you now put a JPG file
named "AlbumArt.jpg" in a directory with music files, this image will be used as
the album cover. When you play this album in the Pinnacle MediaManager or in
the ShowCenter Player or on your TV, this image is displayed while you listen.
The search for album cover files is a background process, whose parameters are
configured in the Pinnacle MediaManager
File/Preferences
.
When playing Rhapsody music, the Rhapsody server automatically displays the
album cover. This does not apply to Rhapsody Radio.
Playing Music Without Turning on the TV
You can assign music playlists or Internet radio stations to the number keys 1 to
9 on your remote control using
Settings/Music options/Shortcut Keys
in the
TV Menu
. The keys retain this shortcut function in the
New Media
menu (that
is, directly after connecting with the server PC).
Connecting to the server PC can also be automated. To do this, select
Add/Edit
Servers
in the
server options menu
, then select your server PC, and then select
Always connect to this server
.
If the
New Media
menu is displayed on the TV screen, the yellow LED display
on the ShowCenter Player shows you that a server connection exists. You can
then start playing music using the number keys 1 to 9.
