2.4 Positioning and Range:
The PIKO wireless Receiver has a transmission range of approximately 164 feet (50
M) or more. This is subject to local conditions. Transmissions on the same frequency
like garage door openers, remote thermometers, radio headsets, and physical
obstacles like walls can limit the unit’s effective range. The Receiver should be set up
in such a way that it’s range is not exceeded by any portion of your layout. It should
be placed at least three feet (1 M) away from any transformer, digital command
center, or tracks. Do not lay the Receiver’s cable parallel to the tracks. Experiment
with placing the Receiver in different positions to find out what works best for you.

3. Establish radio connection:
Make sure that your PIKO Navigator has a 2.4 GHz V2 signal and uses firmware
version 2.2 or higher. The Navigator will register automatically the first time it is used
(or after a reset) with the Receiver, as long as the Receiver is in receiving mode. All
you do is put the Navigator in connection mode. The settings for the Navigator
are found in it’s menu. As soon as the Navigator and Receiver are connected, no
additional Navigators can be connected to the system. For further logins under
“Radio transmitter config.” or if the initial login was not successful, press the button
on the Receiver for approx. five seconds until the status LED flashes quickly. While
it is blinking, you can register another Navigator. If this does not work, it is because
the maximum number of users has been reached (more than four throttles on the
list) or a reset has been initiated. The Receiver’s connection list always deletes
the oldest Navigator first. Up to two Navigators can be saved before deleting from
the connection list. For this, you have to select the Pri (for „priority”) option in your
Navigator menu yours PIKO 2.4 GHz V2 navigator (RC Config
--> LogIn 2.4). Throttles that are already registered with your Receiver can login to
the system without need to re-register each time they are activated.
4. ID Number:
Navigators can only work with the digital bus if they have a single Bus ID (device
identification number on the digital bus). The Receiver is passive and has no bus
ID to be set. With the 2.4GHz wireless system, a radio ID is automatically assigned to the
Navigator when logging in. This radio ID corresponds to a permanently assigned bus ID.
