3-4.2 Manual Pump Shift Override
(Optional)
The manual pump shift control is located on the pump panel. This handle also controls the shift lever on the pump.
If the air shift fails to engage the pump, THEN use the manual pump shift instead of the air shift. This is a manual
override and requires two people to operate.
Practice using the manual pump shift, so you and a partner can do it automatically if the air shift fails.

Pump Shift Control must be in the PUMP position when running pump.
ONLY operate manual pump shift when BOTH automatic transmission AND pump shift control are in
NEUTRAL.
Engine or transmission damage can occur.
Manual Pump Shift Override (optional)
1. Position one person in the driver’s seat and one person at the pump panel.
2. Shift transmission Into NEUTRAL (N).
3. Apply parking brake.
4. Apply service brake by pressing and holding the brake pedal.
5. Place pump shift control in NEUTRAL.
Move the pump shift control lever located in the cab to the middle or NEUTRAL position.
NOTE: Depending on pump model, pull in or push out the manual shift T-handle, using steady pressure.
Read the instruction plate near the manual T-handle for operation method.
6. Engage the manual shift handle.
7. Place pump shift control in PUMP position.
Move the pump shift control lever down into pump mode.
8. Shift the transmission into DRIVE (D).
