Three sub-units of 8 bits are used to control the module’s relays as shown in the table below. Enabling a particular
bit closes the C to A signal paths of the associated relays.

The 40-792 utilises an array of thirty four 2 Form C changeover relays. In the default state the daisy chain is routed
through all tributaries and the multiplexers are inactive. Energising a particular relay creates a signal path between
its C and A terminals the effects of which vary depending on the relays function. The relay module’s switching
architecture is shown in detail in Figure 2.2. The architecture of an individual 2 Form C relay is as shown below:
