The following figure (
) illustrates the numbered matrix
system. It shows a phyCORE-LPC2292/94 with SMT phyCORE-
connectors on its underside (defined as dotted lines) mounted on a
Carrier Board. In order to facilitate understanding of the pin
assignment scheme, the diagram presents a crossview of the
phyCORE module showing these phyCORE-connectors mounted on
the underside of the module’s PCB.

Many of the controller port pins accessible at the connectors along the
edges of the board have been assigned alternate functions that can be
activated via software.
