   CAUTIONS FOR USAGE

First, operate the unit on a trial run basis referring to the “Start-up of unit”.  Check that the unit is

operating properly before placing anything inside the chamber.

As the chamber temperature is maintained at 4

o

C ± 1

o

C through the circulation of forced air, do not

block inlet or outlet for air.    Make sure no unrelated items or papers enter the air inlet.

Proper space should be provided between the items inside the unit to allow air circulation.

Check that the door and inner door are closed tightly.    If the door is not completely closed, the door

check lamp lights.    A bent, ruptured or twisted door gasket causes a space between the door and frame,
and inadequate cooling efficiency.

When the unit is first started or ambient temperature is high, the cabinet walls may become hot.

However, this condition does not denote a malfunction as the heat is due to the hot gases which are
piped around the unit to prevent condensation.

A fuse is provided under the power switch.    Place the fuse after checking of the cause when the fuse

is blown.    Make sure that the check is performed with no item in the chamber.    (except for CE model)

Fix the shelves securely.    Make sure the shelves are inserted firmly into the shelf support.

If an instrument requiring a power source is placed inside the cabinet, the cable can be led through the

access port on the cabinet.  After installation, a rubber cap should be used to seal the access port.
Failure to do this can affect the temperature uniformity inside the cabinet and lead the condensation on
the outside of the access port.

Always turn off the fluorescent light when it is not necessary.

In case condensation forms on the front glass due to a high humidity environment, wipe it off with a soft

and dry cloth.

After the unit is placed in its final location, secure it using the leveling feet.    Adjust them so that the

cabinet is vertical or slightly higher in the front.

When the unit is installed, the alarm may not be operated as the built-in nickel-cadmium battery is

completely discharged.  This condition does not denote a malfunction.  In this case, run the unit for
about 3 hours, then push the alarm test switch to check the battery condition.  The unit must be in
operation for about 2 days before the battery is fully recharged after it has become completely
discharged.

Do not clean the unit with scrubbing brushes, acid, thinner, solvents powdered soap, cleanser or hot

water.  These agents can scratch the paint or cause it to peel.    Plastic and rubber parts can be easily
damaged by these materials, especially solvents.  When a neutral detergent is used to clean the unit,
rinse thoroughly with a cloth soaked in clean water.

Never store corrosive materials such as acid or alkali unless the container is completely sealed up.

Corrosion may lead to failure of the unit in time.
