1. Requirements
The installation or replacement of the SIM Card is only permitted on the model
Tab-Ex 02 DZ1 WWAN. Ecom recommends that the installation or replacement
of the SIM Card shall be carried out by qualified personnel in a clean environ-
ment. That means the personnel shall be experienced or trained in inspection
or maintenance of flameproof/explosion-proof equipment.
Installation or replacement of the SIM Card shall only be carried out in the
non-hazardous area! It is essential for the Ex safety of the device that the follo-
wing instructions described in this document are followed accurately.
Any use of enclosure parts or screws other than those provided by ecom is
prohibited, and will void the type examination certificate and the certificates of
compliance/conformity related to the device in question. If there are any signs of
damage during assembly or disassembly of the enclosure parts the device must
be withdrawn from further use in hazardous locations.
Repair of the device shall only be carried out in accordance with the repair inst-
ructions provided in the safety leaflet delivered with the original sales package.
The most important Ex safety issues related to the following instruction:
• No damage should be caused to the SIM plug and associated enclosure threads!
• No cross threading of the SIM plug should occur when re-installed!
• The SIM plug should be screwed back in place with a minimum of 5 complete
360° turns!
• The SIM plug safety screw must be screwed back in place to prevent loosening
of the SIM plug!
