2) Inspection of insertion tube flexibility
a) Form an arch with the Insertion Tube as shown in the figure below.

b) Gently raise/lower the left/right hands alternately and confirm equal flexibility
for the length of the loop. Do NOT use the endoscope if there are any:
• extraordinarily rigid portion which do not bend as easily as the rest of the arch.
• extraordinarily flexible portions which bend much more than the rest of the arch.

c) Repeat steps a) and b) above until the inspection of the entire insertion tube is
complete. If the endoscope fails the inspection above;
• Do NOT use the endoscope and
• Contact your local PENTAX service facility.
