2.2 Programming Gateway Zone/Network ID
A distinct Network or Zone ID is used if multiple systems are working within the wireless
range of each other. This is to avoid cross talk between gateways and controllers. By
assigning a distinct Zone/Network ID the gateway and controller will communicate only the
ones with the same Network ID. Up to 7 distinct Zones IDs can be assigned (0 thru 6)
Caution
Before changing the network ID be sure that 2000 Series Controller is programmed with the
same Network / Zone ID else there will be communication failure between the devices.
Leave the controller and gateway on defulat 0 as Network ID if there are no other PT2000
Systems in the area.
To set the Zone ID hold the magnetic wand to an internal magnetic switch labeled as
SW-1
situated on upper left corner of the unit. The LCD will display two options (one at time) to
select from.
To select “
Set Zone ID”
hold the magnet to SW-1 when this option is displayed.
To change the Zone ID hold the magnet to SW-1 and the ID starts changing. The
numerical valued is incremented by 1. Zone ID can be set between 0 and 6. The value
rolls over to 0 after 6.
Once the desired Zone ID is achieved, move the magnet away. After 5 seconds of no
switch activity the unit will return to its normal operation.
The new Zone ID is retained in non-volatile memory is recalled when the unit is
powered up again.
