8. Be accompanied
CAUTION
Never paddle alone.
It is always preferable to be accompanied on your outing in case of an
emergency or accident. You should know the level of physical ability of those
paddling with you and relevant medical conditions associated with each of them.
Always tell someone your plans, including your destination, how long you’ll be
gone, and how many people you’ll be with.
9. Always familiarize yourself with the body of water you intend
to navigate
WARNING
Scout unfamiliar water.
Find out what hours boating is permitted, if there are any known hazardous
conditions and where to get help quickly if there is an emergency or accident.
Check tidal changes and currents specific to your location. If you decide to go
down rapids, you need to scout in advance and, if necessary, portage your SUP
to bypass unfamiliar or dangerous zones.
10. Regulations and laws
CAUTION
Always follow Coast Guard regulations and/or boating and safety laws,
regulations and orders of various levels of government (including regional).
Consult the Coast Guard and/or authorities in various levels of government about
the proper handling of a boat and required and/or recommended equipment
such as lighting and sound alarms.
11. Vent cap
CAUTION
Make sure the vent cap of the SUP is firmly in place before putting it in
the water.
12. Self protection
WARNING
Wear appropriate safety gear.
This product is not a personal flotation device. This SUP does not contain
flotation material and may sink if deflated.
If you choose to go down rapids, you are voluntarily risking serious injury
or death. You must take the appropriate safety precautions, inspect your
equipment thoroughly, and wear appropriate safety gear. You should always
wear a lifejacket, a helmet and we strongly advise you to wear protection on
your arms, legs, etc. It is your responsibility to have the proper equipment
and familiarize yourself with the body of water before heading out.
WARNING
Never allow minors to use this board without adult supervision.
Never tow behind a boat.
Never use as a lifesaving device.
Never exceed the boat’s maximum weight.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The best way to clean your SUP is to rinse sand and saltwater deposits
from your board after each use with fresh water. Maintain the high pressure
pump regularly. Please make sure that the pump is fully lubricated with oil.
To lubricate, open the top and spread a thin layer of oil or grease on the
gasket and tube. Regularly clear the air filter located inside the top.
