Fault table
If you are unsure about whether your gas hob is working properly, this
does not necessarily mean that there's a problem. In each case check
the following points in the table below or for more information visit the
web site ‘www.pelgrimservice.nl’.
Symptom
Possible cause
Solution
There is a smell of gas close
to the appliance.
The gas connection to the
gas hob is leaking.
Shut off the main gas tap.
Contact your installer.
A burner won't ignite.
Plug not in socket.
Plug the plug into the
mains socket.
Faulty fuse / fuse in consumer
unit has tripped.
Fit a new fuse or reset the
fuse.
Spark plug dirty/damp.
Clean / dry the spark plug.
Burner parts incorrectly fitted.
Assemble the burner parts
using centring bosses.
Burner parts dirty/moist.
Clean / dry the burner parts.
Check to see whether the
outflow holes are open.
Main gas tap shut off.
Open the main gas tap.
Fault in the gas network.
Check with your gas supplier.
Gas bottle or tank is empty.
Connect a new gas bottle or
have the tank filled.
Wrong type of gas used.
Check that the gas used is
suitable for the appliance. If
not, contact your gas fitter.
