
5.2. Basic Measurement Step
1.) Prepare the sample to be measured.
2.) Place the gauge in open space, at least 5cm away from any metal, and press
key to power on.
Note:
a)
If
displayed, the battery is OK. Or if
displayed, the battery
capacity is low, and measurement will be not reliable, and you need to
replace the battery.
b)
The gauge will work in factory default settings for the first time,
including single measure mode, AUTO probe mode, direct group mode
(DIR) etc..
c)
When power on, if in direct group mode (DIR), the readings display
area is empty, or if in general group mode (GENn, n=1 to 4), it will
display the last readings and statistics value measured before power
off last time.
3.) Reference to the chapter 3 to decide whether need to calibrate the gauge.
4.) Start measuring. Place the probe on the sample vertically and rapidly, and
after one beep (for single measure mode), raise the probe rapidly. Readings
will be display on LCD, meanwhile statistics value are upgraded and
displayed.
5.) Do next measurement according to step 4.
6.) Press
to power off. If not any operations within 3 min., the gauge will power
off automatically.
Note:
1.
There are three ranks (
P … rank 3; P .. rank 2; P . rank 1) of instability
indications for the probe on the LCD. When shown, probe is unstable
seriously, and measuring will be no reaction until probe more stable.
2.
If a suspicious reading is measured, user can delete it through pressing
the ZERO key once.
3.
Each time raise the probe, you must wait for about 1sec. with probe in
open space and 5cm away from metal.
