NOTICE:
If engine still fails to start, contact your PCM
Engines Dealer for service.
8.
Check engine oil pressure immediately after
the engine starts. If oil pressure is not within
specifi cations (see Engine Specifi cations),
immediately stop the engine and determine the
cause.
9.
Check voltmeter for proper charging system
operation.
10. Check the engine and transmission for fuel, oil,
water and exhaust leaks.
11. Allow the engine to reach normal operating
temperature. Check the temperature gauge
to ensure the engine is operating within the
normal temperature range. If the temperature
is abnormally high, stop the engine immediately
and determine the cause.
SHIFTING TRANSMISSION
CAUTION
Never shift the transmission into or out of gear
unless the throttle is at the idle position. Shifting the
transmission above 1000 RPM can severely damage
the boat, transmission and engine.
1. Set the throttle lever at the idle position.
2.
Pull up on the Safety Collar and slowly push the
throttle/shift handle into the Forward gear Idle
position.
Throttle may be increased/decreased as required in the
Forward Throttle Range.
3.
Pull up on the Safety Collar and slowly pull the
throttle/shift handle back into the Reverse gear
Idle position.
Throttle may be increased/decreased as required in the
Reverse Throttle Range.
4.
Move the transmission lever to the
center detent
position to shift into Neutral.
