You can chamfer edges to 45° both quickly and
easily by making use of the V-groove in the front
baseplate of the plane. Position the V-groove of the
plane on the edge to be chamfered and guide it
steadily along the edge, always retaining the same
angle.
Parallel stop (Figures 3/4/5)
Use the parallel stop (9) when you want to plane
parallel to the edge of the workpiece.
Installing the parallel stop:
Fasten the mount (d) of the parallel stop to the left
side of the tool using the supplied thumb screw (a).
Now connect the mount (d) to the slide of the parallel
stop (9). The guide rail must always be aligned in
downward direction.
Fix the distance required between the parallel stop
and the edge of the workpiece.
Fasten the parts with the carriage bolt (b) and the
wing nut (c).
Step planing (Fig. 6)
앬
The planing of steps is possible with the help of
the parallel stop.
앬
Mount the parallel stop (9) on the left side of the
tool and the step depth scale (10) on the right
side of the tool.
앬
Position the scale (10) so that the required depth
of step is indicated. Fasten the parts with the
thumb screw (a).
Width of step:
You can set the width of the step with the parallel
stop (9).
Depth of step:
We recommend you to set a cutting depth of 2 mm
and to keep planing the workpiece until the required
depth of step is reached.
Changing the planing knives
Important: Before doing any work on the
machine, always disconnect it from the mains
first.
The electric hand-held plane is equipped with two,
carbide-tipped, double-sided knives. These knives
have two blades and can be turned over. The guide
groove ensures that the planing depth remains the
same, even after the knife has been turned. Worn,
blunt or damaged blades must be replaced.
Carbide-tipped, double-sided knives cannot be
resharpened.
Loosen the three hexagonal screws (1) with the
enclosed spanner and, using a piece of wood, push
the carbide-tipped, double-sided knife sideways out
of the knife block.
Clean the knife bed before inserting the knife.
Insert the knife by proceeding in the reverse order.
Make sure the planing knife is flush with both ends of
the knife block. Always replace both knives at the
same time to ensure even planing.
Important: Before using your electric hand-held
plane for the first time, make sure the knives are
installed correctly and are firmly in place.
Replacing the power cable
If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-
sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid
danger.
