STARTUP
Prior to using the hedge trimmer, remove the blade protective cover.
Connect the machine to power using an extension cord. Attach the cable to the cable strain relief mechanism
attached to the rear handle. (Fig. 6).
Simultaneously press the ON/OFF switches located on the main handle (3) and on the front handle (4). Now you
can work with your hedge trimmer (Fig. 4, 5).
To switch off, release one of the switches (4) or (3).
The cutting bar brake stops the movement of the blades immediately within 0.5 s. Weak sparks in the area of the
motor ventilation openings are normal and do not pose any danger to you or the hedge trimmer.
HOW TO USE YOUR HEDGE TRIMMER
Prior to using your hedge trimmer, remove all branches with a diameter greater than 20 mm, using regular
gardening shears or saw.
Hold the hedge trimmer with both hands and in a safe distance from your body. Always maintain a firm
and stable stance.
Suspend the extension cord over your shoulder and make sure it remains behind you while
working. Never place the cable over the hedge where it may be cut by the blades. The maximum thickness of
the branches you can cut with this hedge trimmer is 20 mm. When the trimmer approaches the branches,
proceed straight along the cutting line. Execute the vertical cuts along both sides of the hedge first (Fig. 4).,
followed by a horizontal cut along the top part of the hedge (Fig. 5). To achieve a perfect shape of the trimmed
hedge, we recommend to execute the trimming in the upwards direction, i.e. in the direction of the growth. If you
proceed from the top down, the thinner branches would deflect in the outward direction, creating gaps or less
dense areas in the hedge.
To achieve a straight cut on the top of the hedge, stretch a string at the required height along the entire length of
the hedge.
Be careful not to cut foreign objects, such as metal wires, fencing, etc., which could damage the blades or the
hedge trimmer driving mechanism.
Shall the blades stall or become blocked by an object, immediately turn the hedge trimmer off and unplug it from
the outlet. Only then you can clean the tool.
Suitable periods for hedge trimming:
It is recommended to trim deciduous hedges in June and in October.
It is recommended to trim conifer hedges in April and in August.
Fast growing coniferous and other bushes shall be trimmed every 6 weeks, starting in May.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Disconnect the hedger trimmer from power prior to any maintenance activities.
Note: To ensure a long life and reliable use of the product, conduct the below stated maintenance tasks in
regular intervals.
Inspect the hedge trimmer visually on a regular basis, looking for defects such as disconnected, lose or
damaged blades, lose contacts or worn or damaged parts of the machine.
Make sure that no covers and protective devices are damaged and that they are correctly attached.
All needed repairs or maintenance shall be done prior to further use of the hedge trimmer.
Shall a defect occur despite the care dedicated to the hedge trimmer as a part of its production and inspections,
the repair shall be conducted exclusively by an authorized service company.
When handling or cleaning the blades, use protective gloves.
Clean the blades and apply the maintenance spray to them after each use (Fig. 7). Inspect the blades visually
and determine their condition.
Clean the outer parts of the trimmer using a soft brush and rag. Do not use water, solvents or abrasive agents.
Remove all dirt from the trimmer. Particularly, clean the motor ventilation openings.
