SWITCHING THE TIME ZONES
To switch the time zone, you merely need to press
the pusher at 2 o’clock repeatedly until the city
which represents the destination time zone is at 12
o’clock. Three movements take place each time you
press the pusher: the hour hand advances by one
hour, and the city ring and the 24-hour ring both
advance counterclockwise by one position. The
minute hand is not affected by a time zone change
and continues to advance independently.
Caution:
Please fully release the time-zone pusher
before you press it again.
As long as you do not travel to a different time zone,
the city ring will remain stationary. However, the 24-
hour ring will continuously move counterclockwise
because it is coupled with the movement. By means
of the city ring and the 24-hour ring, you can read
the current time in all of the world’s 24 time zones
whenever you wish.
MINUTE REPEATER
The strike sequence of the minute repeater
must be allowed to end completely before it is
activated again.
Caution: never actuate the winding crown
as long as the repeater is working and for
30 seconds thereafter. Doing so could cause
damage to the repeating mechanism which
would not be covered by the warranty.
To activate the striking mechanism, push the slide
all the way up.
Now release it completely – do not pull it down.
Two small hammers will now strike the hours,
quarter-hours, and minutes on two gongs of low
and high pitch. If the watch was set aside unwound
for an extended period of time, the minute repeater
might not indicate the correct time because the
oil may have thickened at some points inside the
mechanism. This is absolutely normal and has no
negative consequences. The striking mechanism
will function correctly again within one or two
hours after the watch has been rewound.
Caution:
As soon as the minute repeater is
actuated with the slide in the left-hand case flank,
the World Time mechanism is blocked so that
for the duration of the time strike no time zone
adjustments can take place.
