8. Give a strong pull straight out to crank and start the engine. Repeat it necessary.
5.3 Treatment of submerged motor
If the outboard is submerged, immediately take it to a dealer. Otherwise some corrosion may begin almost
immediately.
1. Thoroughly wash away contaminants with fresh water.
2. Remove the spark plug(s), and then face the spark plug hole downward to allow any mud, or contaminants
to drain.
3. Drain the fuel from the carburetor, fuel filter, and fuel line. Drain the engine oil completely.
4. Fill the sump with fresh engine oil.
5. Feed engine fogging oil or engine oil through the carburetor(s) and spark plug holes while starting the
engine.
