Hazards caused by noise
■
Excessive noise levels in conjunction with insufficient hearing
protection may lead to permanent hearing damage, hearing loss
and other problems, such as tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, whistling
or humming in your ears) . A risk assessment and the implementa-
tion of appropriate regulatory mechanisms for these hazards are
therefore essential .

Suitable regulatory mechanisms include measures such as the use
of insulation materials to avoid ringing noise occurring on
the workpieces .

Use hearing protection equipment .
■
Circular and oscillating sawing machines or sawing machines
with reciprocating saw blades must be operated and maintained
in accordance with the recommendations contained in these
operating instructions in order to avoid an unnecessary increase
in the noise level .
■
The consumables/machine tools must be selected, maintained
and replaced in accordance with the recommendations in the
operating instructions in order to avoid an unnecessary increase
in the noise level .
■
If the circular and oscillating sawing machines or the sawing
machines with reciprocating saw blades are equipped with a
silencer, always ensure that it is in its place and in working order
when the machine is in operation .
