Before use
Removing/charging/inserting the
battery pack
CAUTION!
►
Always unplug the appliance before you
remove the battery pack from or connect it
to the charger .
NOTE
►
The battery is supplied partially charged .
Before first use, charge the battery in the
charger for at least 1 hour . This guarantees
full battery performance . You can charge the
lithium-ion battery at any time without short-
ening its service life . Interrupting the charging
process does not damage the battery .
►
If the battery overheats during operation, it
cannot be charged immediately . Allow it to
cool down first .
NOTE
►
Never charge the battery pack if the ambient
temperature is below 10°C or above 40°C .
If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an
extended period, the charge level should
be checked regularly . The optimum charge
level is between 50% and 80% . The storage
climate should be cool and dry and the
ambient temperature should be between
0°C and 50°C .
1 . To remove the battery pack , press the release
button and pull the battery pack out of the
appliance .
2 . Insert the battery pack into the high-speed
charger .
3 . Insert the mains plug into the socket . The control
LED lights up red .
4 . The green charge level indicator LED indi-
cates that the charging process is complete and
the battery pack is ready .
5 . Insert the battery pack back into the appliance .
Adjusting the blade guard
WARNING!
►
The appliance may only be operated with the
blade guard fitted .
►
Before each use, check that the blade guard
is securely fastened .

Loosen the setting screw by turning it anti-
clockwise (see also fig . B on the fold-out page) .
♦
Adjust the position of the blade guard to the
respective material thickness .
♦
Turn the setting screw clockwise again .

WARNING!

Make sure that the clamping screw is
firmly tightened before putting the appliance
into operation .
Fitting/changing the cutting disc
WARNING!
►
The cutting disc can become very hot
during use . Allow it to cool before changing .
►
Wear protective gloves to avoid injury .
►
Use only the supplied clamping flanges for
assembly .
Always remove the battery pack before changing
the cutting disc !

Loosen the setting screw . Adjust the blade
guard to the uppermost position .
♦
Fix the cutting disc in place in one of the
holes using the smaller hex key (see fig . A
on the fold-out page) .
♦
Remove the clamping screw and the clamp-
ing flange using the larger hex key .
♦
Remove the cutting disc from the mounting
flange . Push the cutting disc carefully
downwards out of the blade guard .
