4. Operating the equipment
4.1 Overview of controls
1. 16x2 line menu display.
2. Control key pad used for menu navigation and generator
operation.
3. Tri coloured System Check Indicator.

4.2 Starting the generator
Prior to connecting the generator to the electrical supply, ensure that all connections have been removed from the gas outlets on the rear of
the generator.
On G4 models, the integral mass flow controller (MFC) must be configured so that the gas is directed to the N
2
MFC outlet. The generator
will not reach purity if the gas flows to atmosphere through the N
2
outlet. Once the MFC has been configured, fit a ball valve to the N
2
MFC
outlet and leave it in the open position.
Mass Flow Controller configuration.
1. Remove the side panel from the generator.
The Mass Flow Controller (MFC) and bypass valve assembly is located
directly behind the N
2
MFC outlet.
2. Rotate the bypass valve handle to the desired position as shown:
Position (A) directs the gas through the MFC to the N2 MFC outlet.
Position (B) directs the gas directly to the N2 outlet therefore bypassing
the MFC.
3. Replace the side panel of the generator.
