1. Disconnect power.

2.  Unlatch the door and remove the prefilter. Discard the prefilter if it is a disposable type.  

Replace the filter with the appropriate one selected from the table on page 1. If the prefilter is a 
reusable metallic type, clean and reinstall. Close the door and restart the unit. If the pressure gauge 
still reads over 3”, go to the next step.

3.  Unlatch door.

4.  If primary filter is a 29” or 36” long fiberglass bag, unlatch blower access door by reaching through 

the compartment and unscrewing thumbscrew as shown in Figure 3. Remove filter support rod 
and discard the filter. Replace the filter with the appropriate one selected from the table on page 1. 
Secure the blower access door and latch the door.

5.  If the primary filter is a 22” long fiberglass bag in combination with a HEPA or carbon cell, remove 

the 22” bag filter and discard. Replace the filter with the appropriate one selected from the table on 
page 1. Latch the door and restart the unit. If the pressure gauge still reads over 3”, go to step 6 
HEPA cell or step 7 carbon cell.

6.  Remove the new 22” bad and set aside. Slide the HEPA cell forward until it clears the door 

opening. Remove and discard the HEPA cell. Replace the HEPA cell with part #33-0144.  
Reinstall the 22” bag and latch door. Restart the unit.

7.  Remove the new 22” bad and set aside. Reach through the compartment and remove the screws 

and frame on the front of the carbon cell. Set screws and frame aside. Remove 12 carbon trays by 
a lift and slide motion. Replace with 12 carbon trays part #33-0141 or refill trays from bulk supply. 
Reinsert trays and attach frame. Latch door and restart the unit.

The following section is for the use of trained personnel only. The following procedures will expose 
hazardous live and moving parts. Disconnect air cleaner before proceeding.

6.2 Filter Maintenance

A.  Model DA (front load): When the unit is supplied with an optional wrap-around filter, remove the 

filter material and discard when it becomes soiled. Replace the filter material with part #33-0129 
and restart the unit. When the pressure gauge on the side of the unit reads over 2” the internal 
filter(s) may need to be replaced. Use the following procedures for filter replacement.

1.  Disconnect power.

2.  Remove the prefilter and discard. Replace the filter with the appropriate one selected from the table 

on page 1. Restart the unit. If the pressure gauge continues to read over 2”, go to the next step.

3.  Remove the prefilter and slide the primary filter toward you. Discard the filter and replace with the 

appropriate one selected from the table on page 1. Restart the unit.

B.  Models DB/DBM (side load) when the unit is supplied with an optional wrap-around filter, remove the 

filter material and discard when it becomes soiled. Replace the filter material with part #33-0129 and 
restart the unit. When the pressure gauge reads over 3”, the internal filter(s) need to be replaced.  
Use the following procedure for filter replacement.
