STEP 8 : OPERATION & STORAGE

8 -1 OPERATION

Ignition 

1. Open the LP gas cylinder valve at the propane tank.

1a.  Align symbols on control knob with calibration mark (see illustration). 

2. Turn control knob to a position half way between small flame (8b) and the 

large flame symbol (8c) aligning with calibration mark. Depress control knob 

and then push electronic ignitor button to ignite the main burner. Repeat until 

main burner ignites.

3. Keep the control knob fully depressed for an additional 30 seconds after 

burner ignites. If burner does not stay lit, repeat above operation.

NOTE : Main burner may also be lit using a MATCH

CAUTION:

 Be aware of gas build-up when lighting with match-especially after 

holding down control knob. If you smell gas, WAIT 5 minutes for gas to dissi-

pate before ligthing.

Normal Operation

After main burner is ignited, turn control knob to either low position (small 

flame symbol – see fig. 8b) or high position (large flame symbol – see fig. 8c).

To turn OFF appliance : turn to OFF symbol (see fig. 8a)

Note : after turning off the unit, wait 5 minutes before attempting to relight.

Completely shut off/close LP gas cylinder valve.

Manual Lighting

: place a match thru any of the large holes at the bottom of 

the burner unit while following the lighting procedures above.

Shutdown

Turn control knob to OFF symbol, small white dot (fig. 8a).

Electric Ignitor – Battery Replacement

Requires 1-AAA battery – alkaline type recommended. Unscrew rubber/vinyl 

housing. Replace battery – negative (flat) end of battery facing out. Gently  

reattach housing by threading into place.

adjustment, service and/or maintenance can cause serious injury or damage to

Minimum Clearance to adjacent combustible surfaces is as follows :  

Sides – 24’’ Top – 36’’

The Gas Supply Must be turned OFF at the LP Gas Cylinder when this  

appliance is not in use.

** Think Safety**

After appliance shuts 

down Do NOT touch or 

move unit for at least 

30 minutes. This allows 

proper cooling of the 

heater components.

During the FIRST TIME use 

only. It is normal to expe-

rience a small amount of 

smoke coming from the re-

flector hood. This is due to 

the burn off the protective 

coating applied during the 

manufacturing process.
