DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Gel fuelled fireplace appliances are an environmentally friendly solution to a real fire without the
need for a wood or gas supply. There is no direct venting required with a gel fuel appliance, but
a constant inflow of fresh air is required.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

Please get yourself and the members of your family familiarized with the Warning section of this
manual

Ensure the room selected for this appliance is not small (more than 165 sq ft) and has adequate
ventilation

Follow assembly and installation instructions provided in this manual

Remove all packaging and wrapping material before use

Study well the labels on the gel fuel cans before use

STARTING UP THE FLAME

After the appliance has been assembled and installed - place Environment Canada approved,
369g gel fuel canisters (not included) into the unit as shown later in the manual. Then light
according to the gel fuel’s instructions. This is usually done with a long match or barbeque
lighter. Do not put dead matches inside the gel fuel can. The flame will light slowly and spread
across the surface of the gel.

Spilled gel must be removed with an absorbent tissue and cleaned with water to prevent ignition
outside the burner. Consult the gel fuel label for clean up instructions.

In case the flame does not ignite, please repeat the ignition process until the flame burns
steadily. Fuel will burn low at first. Please allow 15 minutes to reach the optimum temperature
and flame height.

EXTINGUISHING THE FLAME

CAUTION: Never Extinguish the Flame with Water

Always use the provided fire extinguishing mechanism – the integrated snuffer with a handle
extending on the right hand side of the appliance.

If you wish to extinguish the flame before the fuel has completely burned out, please use the
extinguishing mechanism to fully close the opening of the fuel can and wait until the flame is
extinguished. Wait approximately 15 minutes until the canister has reached room temperature
before relighting or removing.

In an emergency situation, use a Class B fire extinguisher located in close proximity to the

unvented decorative appliance.
