ifIndex

Provides the index into the
interface table ( ifTable ) and to
other MIB tables. It is
recommended that values be
assigned contiguously starting
with 1. The value for each
interface sublayer must remain
constant between NMS
reinitializations. See See

Interface List:
CONx*: Console port, Layer 1, maximum 1 per
unit, exists in SU, AU, and BU.
ETHx*: Ethernet management port, Layer 1,
maximum 1 per unit, exists in SU and AU.
T1x*: T1 interface, Layer 1, maximum 8 per unit,
exists in SU, AU, and BU.
E1x*: E1 interface, Layer 1, maximum 8 per unit,
exists in SU, AU, and BU.
ATMx*: ATM uplink, Layer 3, maximum 96 per
unit, exists in SU, AU, and BU.
AA5L_x*: ATM AAL5, Layer 4, maximum 1 per
unit, exists in SU and AU.
ReachDSLx*: ReachDSL port, Layer 1,
maximum 48 per unit, exists in SU, AU, and BU.
