Safe Use
WARNING
Radiation Hazard. Transmitter power levels are sufficient to cause blindness or other serious
injury to body tissue. Do not power on the PIM and Transceiver until it is safe to do so.
WARNING
Risk of Electric Shock. High voltages exist within the units and the cables providing power to
the units. Always remove power from these devices when performing maintenance. Do not
modify power cables or physical unit in any way.
WARNING
This equipment is intended for installation in a restricted access location. The equipment
should not be touched during operation.
Safe Operating
Distance
The values represent the distance whereby a person of a height B may pass upright in front of
the antenna assuming level ground between the antenna and the point of interest in front of the
antenna.
This does not mean that the area just outside the zone is free from microwave radiation, but
levels should not pose any danger for the personnel that stay temporarily in the area. In cases
where the antenna is mounted above ground, on a tripod or pedestal, the calculations can be
adjusted using the following formula:
Antenna Elevation (y) Safe Distance (x)

THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS FOR GUIDANCE PURPOSES ONLY. A RADIATION HAZARD
METER SHOULD BE USED FOR CHECKING THE SAFE DISTANCE FROM A RADIATING
ANTENNA.
NEVER STAND IN THE DIRECTION OF TRANSMISSION (NEAR OR IN FRONT OF THE
ANTENNA) DURING TRANSMISSION.
