IMPORTANT

The rewind lever (I) must be set to ―Normal."

If this is not done the upper spool will not revolve freely and will prevent the
film being fed to the sprocket.

Having  extinguished  all  the  room  lights,  turn  the  main  switch  (V)  in  a
clockwise direction, the first position starts the motor, the second lights

the lamp at reduced wattage, the third brings the lamp to full intensity.
To switch off, turn the switch in an anti-clockwise direction.

If the projected picture is blurred and indistinct this can be corrected by

rotating  the  lens  (M)  one  way  or  the  other  until  the  picture  is  clearly
defined.

The motor speed control (U) should be rotated until natural movement is

depicted on the screen.

Do not run the projector too fast. The correct speed for silent films is 16
frames per second or two revolutions of the sprockets per second (8mm.

one  revolution  per  second).  The  Specto  projector  gives  flickerless
pictures at lower speeds than normal and you can make your films last
longer by running slower.

FRAMING

When  a  portion  of  another  "frame"  appears  on  the  screen  either  above  or

below the projected picture, an adjustment should be made by means of  the
framing screw (Z).

Screwing down removes the unwanted portion from the bottom of the picture.

Alternatively, loosening the screw cuts out the intruding portion from the top

of the picture.

Should  the  bottom  loop  be  "lost,"  due  to  faulty  perforations  in  the  film,  it  is
preferable to stop the projector. Ensure that the claw is disengaged from the
film, then; re-form the loop by pulling down the film with a finger and check

that the loops are maintained by turning the inching knob a few revolutions.

REWINDING

As  soon  as  "The  End"  appears  on  the  screen  the  projector  lamp  should  be

switched off, but the motor may be allowed to continue working until all film is
wound on the take-up spool.
