Analysis of a shorted Vda condition
The following is an example of a 50” Plasma
TV, which normally has a total of 15 connectors
between the C boards and the panel.
If one of the ICs on the flex cable (FPC) is
shorted, the respective resistor on the C board
opens and a 3” approx. black bar appears on
the area of the screen controlled by the
defective IC.
If R181 is opened, it’s
likely for the IC on
CB4 to be shorted.
The result is a black
bar on the area
indicated on the
picture above.
