Viewing 3D Images
About viewing 3D images
The projector can display 3D video signals that are input by the
[Frame packing], [Side-by-Side(Half)], [Top and
Bottom], [Frame sequential] and [Field sequential] methods. You are required to prepare external devices for
viewing 3D video (such as 3D eyewear, video signal output devices) which are suitable for your 3D system. For
connections of the projector and external devices, see the instructions of external devices you use. Refer to
“3D compatible signals” (

page 71) for the types of 3D video signals that can be used with the projector.
This projector supports the 3D glass of DLP Link method. However, Panasonic do not guarantee this projector
supports the 3D glass from other companies.
Viewing 3D images

You can use the projector to view 3D videos by playing Blu-ray 3D compatible discs on a 3D Blu-ray player.

The projecting image will change according to the setting of the [3D] menu. When it is set to [Auto], the

projector will automatically determine the 3D method of the input video signals. When it is set to [On], it will
compulsory display the determined 3D method in the [3D Format] menu. For viewing 3D images, see [3D]
in the [3D] menu. (

If the 3D images are not displayed correctly or the images cause discomfort, the images can be adjusted

by [3D Invert] and [3D Format].

When 3D Eyewear is used indoors with fluorescent lights on, the light may appear to flicker and the 3D image may not
z
display normally. In such case, turn off the fluorescent lights.
It may be difficult to view other displays (such as the computer screen, digital clock, calculators etc.) while wearing the 3D
z
Eyewear. Remove the 3D Eyewear when viewing other than 3D videos.

When using 3D glass to view 3D images, it is necessary to synchronize to the following frequency according to the vertical
z
scanning frequency of each 3D video signal. Please refer to each manufacturer for the specifications of the 3D glass.
