Notes on Use
• Fully charge the battery before updating software.
• Make available space of USB storage sufficient before updating
software. If a message is displayed telling that the available
space is not sufficient, delete data in the USB storage and try
again.
• You cannot update software in the following cases:
• During call or out of service area
• International roaming
• Airplane mode
• Connected to Wi-Fi network
• Tethering is enabled
• OS upgrading
• Wrong date and time are set
• Battery level is not sufficient for software update
• Available space is not sufficient for software update
• Available space of USB storage is not sufficient for software
update
• It may take time to update (download, rewrite) software.
• You cannot make/receive calls, use communication functions,
and other functions while updating software. (You can receive
voice calls during download. Note that the download is
interrupted if you receive a call.)
• For software update, the mobile phone connects to the server
(DOCOMO website) through SSL/TLS communication.
• You are advised to update software when radio wave is strong
enough with the four-bar antenna mark displayed and while
you are not moving.
* If software download is stopped due to a bad radio
wave condition, try updating software again in a place with a
good radio wave condition.
• If software is already updated, [No update is needed.] appears
when you check for update.
• If the mobile phone is in international roaming or out of service
area, [Failed to start update. Due to no network or roaming.]
appears.
• If the battery level is not sufficient for software update, [Failed
to start update. Due to low battery. Please recharge and retry
later.] appears.
• Messages (SMS) received during software update are stored in
the SMS center.
