Problem
Cause & solution
Static is heard, sound
cuts in and out.
Interference from other
electrical units.

Move the cordless handset and the base unit away from
other electrical appliances.

Move closer to the base unit.

Raise the base unit antenna.

If your unit is connected to a telephone line with xDSL
service, we recommend connecting a noise filter
between the base unit and the telephone line jack.
Contact your xDSL provider for details.
The cordless handset
and/or base unit does not
ring.

The ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page 21, 22).

The night mode feature is turned on. Turn it off
(page 50).
I cannot make a call.

The dialing mode may be set incorrectly. Set the dial
mode (page 17) to match the type of telephone service
you have (tone or pulse).

While the answering system is answering a call, or the
other cordless handset is in use, you may not be able to
make a call. Try again later.
I cannot redial by

If the last number dialed was more than 24 digits long,
the number will not be redialed correctly.
