General
You cannot operate the
Answering System with the
base unit.
• The handset user is operating the Answering
System, or is on the phone. Wait until the
IN USE/CHARGE indicator light goes out.
You cannot operate the
Answering System from a
touch tone phone.
• Make sure you enter the correct remote code
(p. 45).
• The Answering System may not respond if the
tones are too short to activate the unit. Press
each button firmly.
• The Answering System is off. Turn it on (p. 47).
You cannot operate the
Answering System with the
handset.
• Someone is operating the Answering System.
• You are too far from the base unit. Walk closer to
the base unit.
• The unit is recording a message. To answer the
call, press

.
While recording a greeting
message, the unit starts to
ring and stops recording.
• To answer the call, press

. Start
again from the beginning after hanging up.
During playback, the unit
starts to ring and stops
playback.
• To answer the call, press

[MESSAGE/SLOW TALK]
after
hanging up.
Caller ID information is not
displayed during message
playback (p. 43).
• Caller ID information will not be displayed if the
Caller List is renewed and the caller ID
information is erased (p. 27).
Problem
Cause & Remedy
The unit does not work.
• Check the settings (p. 8–10).
• Check whether the dialing mode setting is
correct (p. 15).
• Charge the battery fully (p. 9).
• Clean the charge contacts and charge again
(p. 10).
• Install the battery properly (p. 9).
• Place the handset on the base unit and unplug
the AC adaptor to reset it. Plug in, and try again.
• Re-install the battery (p. 9) and charge it fully.
