6.3.1 About documents for the flatbed
Maximum paper size: 216 mm × 297 mm (8.5 in. × 11.69 in.)
Notice
•
Confirm that any ink, paste pr cprrection fluid has dried completely.
•
If the document is folded, creased or crooked, smooth it out before placing it on the flatbed glass.
6.3.2 Loading documents on the flatbed
Notice
•
Make sure not to damage the flatbed glass.
•
Place the original onto the flatbed glass gently. To avoid malfunction, do not press down too firmly.

Open the document cover (page 21).

Place the document face down, and align the edge of the document ( ) with the standard mark ( ) in
the lower left of the flatbed glass.

Close the document cover gently.
Notice
•
Be sure to close the document cover before starting a scan.
•
Do not close the document cover quickly or let it slam down. Also, do not open the document
cover during scanning. (Doing so may move the document and prevent proper scanning.)
Notes for scanning thickly bound documents
•
Please note that areas of the document that do not touch the flatbed glass will not be scanned properly.
•
Do not move the document during scanning.
