4.3 HD-PLC Multi-hop
The HD-PLC network consists of a Master that manages the entire network and other Terminals.
The terminal authenticates with the Master using the authentication key when joining the HD-PLC
network.
Therefore, please set all the same authentication keys for HD-PLC making up HD-PLC network.
1. PLC authentication key
In the PLC adaptor, multiple Terminals are connected to the Master, for PLC communication.
For connection between the Master and the Terminal, it is possible to connect only PLC adaptors
using the authentication key and having the same key as each other.
You can change the authentication key with the Setting Tool.
Since the authentication key is important for security, please manage it properly.
2. IP address
This PLC adaptor requires an IP address for operation.
Since the factory default is DHCP enabled, please set the IP address when used with a fixed IP
address.
3. Network address
Please set the IP address of the PLC adaptor connected to one Master as the same network
address as the Master.
4. Role of Primary Master / Secondary Master / Terminals
Primary master: Usually functions as the master
Secondary Master: Usually it functions as a terminal, and the response from the master is lost for a
certain period of time and acts as a master of proxy.
Terminal: Each terminal communicates with the master. When hopping between terminals it
transfers communication to the master.
