IEEE802.11a
A wireless LAN standard approved by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Enables communications at speeds up to 54 Mbps
. A standard using a 5 GHz frequency
band. Outdoor communications using IEEE802.11a (5 GHz wireless LAN), however, are
prohibited. When using IEEE802.11a in other countries, follow the each country’s respective
law. Also supports encryption using WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) (
), AES
), and TKIP (Temporary Key Integrity Protocol) (

IEEE802.11b
A wireless LAN standard approved by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Communications at speeds up to 11 Mbps
can be achieved using frequency bands in the 2.4
GHz range.
Also supports encryption using WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) (
), AES (
) and TKIP (Temporary Key Integrity Protocol) (
).
