A pause is sometimes required when
making calls using a PBX or long
distance service.
Example:
If you have to dial

will probably need to pause after dialling

Answering calls
When an incoming call is being received,
the ringer indicator on the handset and
the line 1 or line 2 indicator on the base
unit flash.
